Kathryn Eileen Rohr, Shawnee, and Justin Chase Griest, Ottawa, were married Sept. 25 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers, with Msgr. David LeSieur and Msgr. Richard Oswald officiating.

She is the daughter of Therese and Tom Rohr of Rogers.

He is the son of Cheryl and Denton Griest, Ottawa.

Her grandparents are Margie and Gene Rohr, Hays,and Alice McGowan and the late Judge Robert C. McGowan, Omaha, Neb.

His grandparents are Lucy and Charles Griest, Abbotstown, Penn., and  Helen and Loren Cantrell, and the late Franklin Brown, all of Ottawa.

Maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Mary Beth Rohr, Fayetteville. Bridesmaids were the brides’ sister, Anne Rohr, Rogers, the groom’ s sister, Kelsey Griest, Ottawa, Brooke Gaffigan, Bella Vista, and Jennifer Carver and Sarah Schmits, both of Lenexa.

Best man was Josh Oaks, Lawrence. Groomsmen were the groom’s cousin, Chad Thomas, Lane, Jarod Sigmund, Kansas City, Mo., Ryne Tusten, Shawnee, Daniel Scannell, Lawrence, and Chris Proctor, Dillon, Colo.

Guests were seated by the bride’s cousin, Kevin McGowan, Omaha, Neb., and John Cannon, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory gown of dupion silk that featured a pearl and crystal-beaded v-neckline and pleated bodice that opened to a cathedral length train, accompanied by a chapel length veil accented with scattered crystals throughout.

For her bouquet, she carried her great grandmother’s prayer book highlighted with satin ribbons and an assortment of  autumn-colored dahlias, gerber daisies, and fresia. Her  wedding ring was set with the diamond given to her by the groom’s grandmother.

Wedding music was provided by pianist/organist Linda Burrows, vocalist/guitarist Tony Hoyt, vocalist Emily Garrett, and pianist Bob Cordry.

A reception with buffet and dancing immediately followed at the Clarion Hotel Atrium.

The bride and groom are both 2008 graduates of the University of Kansas.  She is a civil engineer with Ceco Concrete, Overland Park, and he is a mapping technician with M.J. Hardin, Mission.

Following their wedding trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the couple will reside in Shawnee.
