BURLINGTON — Central Heights High School freshman golfer Matt Percy got his prep career off to a good start with sixth place finish Tuesday at Burlington.

He finished sixth with an 80.

“He did a great job of battling the colder conditions and he really fought hard to post a decent score after struggling on the front nine,” Central Heights coach Phil Pearson said. “I was very pleased with his mental toughness and how he recovered after some tough holes.  As a freshman, it was very nice to see him keep it together and have a successful tournament his first time out.”

Central Heights plays Monday at Paola.
