BURLINGTON — The Anderson County High School boys rebounded from Monday’s loss to Baldwin with a 73-64 win over Chanute Tuesday in the Wildcat-Bulldog Classic in Burlington.
The Bulldogs fell to Baldwin, 76-68, in the tourney opener.
Baldwin loss was a tough game,” Anderson County coach Steve Lyon said. “They were big and fast. We fell behind, but managed to fight back.”
Chanute and Anderson County filled up the basket from start to finish. Anderson County led 22-21 at the end of the first quarter.
“We jumped out to an early lead led by some good outside shooting,” Lyon said. “We led by double digits in the third quarter, but Chanute made a run which we were able to hold off.”
Eric Tastove scored 15 of his 25 points in the second half. Spencer Walter tossed in 16. Drew Mechnig had 15.
Tastove netted 13 of his 21 points in the second half against Baldwin. Mechnig scored 14.
