A man who eluded Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and District Court officers more than a week ago is set to appear back in court.
Mark Wayne Baber, 31, ran from the Franklin County District Court building March 6 after being sentenced to serve 60 days in the county jail for a probation violation.
Baber was picked up by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Monday and charged with obstruction of the legal process, according to his booking report. He was then released Tuesday into the custody of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
Baber was appointed an attorney Wednesday during his first court appearance since being apprehended this week and is set to appear back in district court at 1 p.m. March 31, Stephen Hunting, Franklin County district attorney, said Friday.
