Ramah Lucille Swank, 82, Centropolis, Kan., died Tuesday, March 12, 2013.
Funeral services are planned for 10 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. The family will meet with friends 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the funeral home. Interment is planned at the Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Kan.
She was born Oct. 26, 1930, in Franklin County, Kan., the daughter of Bertrum and Agnes (McCann) Stoffer.
Ramah moved with her family to Rantoul and then Ottawa while she was still in school, to Princeton after marriage and then to Centropolis in 1958.
She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1949.
Ramah was united in marriage with Roy Edgar Swank Oct. 25, 1953, in Ottawa, Kan. He survives of the home.
Ramah was a lifelong homemaker and also worked as a waitress at the North American Hotel in the 1940s, bookkeeper at Ottawa Finance in the 1940s, waitress at Lee’s Downtowner in the 1940s, clerk at Woolworths Department Store in the 1970s and 1980s, assembly person at Parmelee Industries in the 1980s and assembly person at Brahler Productions in Lawrence in the 1980s.
She was a member of the Richter United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Garney Lee Swank; parents, Bertrum and Agnes Stoffer; sisters Emma Gregg and Opal Smith; and a brother, Merle Stoffer.
Survivors include her husband, Edgar Swank, of the home; sons, Royce Swank and his wife, Debbie, Centropolis, Derek Swank and his wife, Lisa, Waverly, Perrie Swank and his wife, Kristina, Pomona; a foster daughter, Sherri Wilson, Ottawa; grandchildren, Samantha Lefert and her husband, Loran, Scott Swank, Emily Swank, Philip Swank, Allison Swank and Meredith Swank; great-grandson, Roper Lefert; sisters, Bernice Nigh and her husband, Gayle, Blue Jacket, Okla., and Mona Whiteford, Texas; many nieces and nephews.
