POMONA — Candidates vying for seats on the West Franklin school board are set to share their views next week at a candidate forum.

Community members are invited to the 7 p.m. Wednesday event in the commons area at West Franklin High School, 511 E. Franklin St., Pomona. The forum, sponsored by the West Franklin teachers association, is expected to feature candidates’ views on the bond election facing West Franklin patrons on the June 4 ballot.

The election for West Franklin school board is set for April 2.

Organizers of “Concerned Patrons of West Franklin 287,” a community group opposed to the bond issue and planned consolidation of schools in the district, said they also are planning “forums” next week, though their events would only feature “new” candidates, not the incumbents, who largely have voted in support of the bond issue.

The group’s events are planned for 7 p.m. Tuesday at Appanoose Elementary School, 600 Shawnee Road, Pomona, and 7 p.m. Thursday at Williamsburg Community Building, 126 W William St., Williamsburg.
