Twice in four days the Ottawa University softball team exploded for big innings. The Lady Braves put up 19 runs Saturday in the second game against Southwestern in Ottawa to complete a sweep.

Ottawa won 2-0 and 19-0. Ottawa scored 20 runs Wednesday in a win over Bethel. Ottawa scored 49 runs in the past four games.

Lydia Budke’s two-run double was the only offense in the opener. Cady Blevins, Budke, and Catherine Wallace had two hits each.

Morgan Beckler picked up a complete game victory. She had six strikeouts.

Ottawa exploded for 12 runs in the third inning of the nightcap. Ottawa tacked on five in the fourth.

Blevins led Ottawa with three hits. Sam Shaffer and Blevins had three RBIs.

Morgan Shramek picked up her eighth win.

Ottawa (17-8, 4-2) plays 5 p.m. today at Bethany.
