Ottawa city commissioners will consider a resolution Wednesday to describe Ottawa’s new city limits to include property it annexed earlier this year near the municipal airport.

Wynndee Lee, the city’s director of planning and codes administration, told commissioners at their study session Monday that state law requires, before the last day of December, the city adopt a resolution to describe the city limits to reflect any property annexed by the city that year.

The city in October annexed a 54-acre tract of land it purchased at 2040 Montana Road, south of the Ottawa Municipal Airport, to allow for future expansion of the airport at 2178 Montana Road.

Commissioners agreed to put the resolution on the agenda of Wednesday’s meeting, which will start at 7 p.m. in the commission’s chambers at City Hall, 101 S. Hickory St., Ottawa.
