Ottawa University soon will celebrate its 148th birthday.

The OU choir and orchestra is expected to honor the institution with a celebratory performance 3 p.m. Sunday at the Fredrikson Chapel, 1001 S. Cedar St., Ottawa. Granted a university charter April 21, 1865, OU also plans to play host to a reception following the performance in the chapel narthex, OU said in a release.

All OU alumni, students, supporters and friends are welcome to join the celebration, OU said in a release.
