OSAWATOMIE — Wellsville ladies found themselves lacking when they faced the Osawatomie squad Friday night, losing 35-23.
Tied going into halftime 14-14, the Lady Eagles couldn’t hold on to that momentum going into the second half, where they only scored nine points total.
“Overall, we played pretty well on defense, but we just couldn’t hit any outside shots on offense,” Brock Campbell, head coach, said.
The lack of offense hit the team, he said, coupled with a 14-point game for one of Osawatomie’s key players.
“We normally can hit a few threes, but we couldn’t any of those,” the coach said. “We were getting wide-open looks, we just couldn’t hit anything.”
Friday night’s loss brings the Eagles’ record to 3-6, which Coach Campbell said leaves room for improvement.
The Lady Eagles get another shot Thursday when they face off against Anderson County at home.
