It’s a break from classes, but not a break from learning.
Chris Duderstadt has joined The Herald’s newsroom team as a news and sports intern for the next month. Duderstadt is a senior mass media major at Baker University in Baldwin City and also serves as the editor of the Baker Orange newspaper and website.
As the student newspaper’s editor, he led the Orange staff in an “online-first” transition during the fall 2012 semester and plans to continue the effort before graduating in May. Previously, Duderstadt served as the newspaper’s sports editor for two years.
He is a member of the cross-country and track and field teams at Baker, as well as being a part of Delta Tau Delta fraternity.
Before attending college, Duderstadt graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in Overland Park. He is the son of Hilary and Glen Duderstadt, both Ottawa University graduates.
Duderstadt said he is looking forward to being part of The Herald staff for the coming month. It is his second internship while at Baker. He previously was a summer sports intern at the Lawrence Journal-World.
Duderstadt’s career aspiration is to be a sports journalist after graduating from Baker.
