Asher James Leonard, 4, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013, at his home in Ottawa, Kan., with his family by his side.
A celebration of life service is planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013, Fredrikson Chapel, Ottawa University. Family plan to meet with friends 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Cremation is planned with private Inurnment at a later date.
Asher was born Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, in Overland Park, Kan., the son of Jacob “Jake” and Shannon (Witt) Leonard.
He was a lifelong Ottawa resident.
Asher attended Faith Lutheran Preschool in Ottawa.
Asher lived a life full of joy. His family will always remember his infectious smile and his loving and caring personality. His ability to make people laugh was one of his greatest gifts. Asher loved and lived as only he could, with compassion, joy, excitement, sass and determination. He loved Star Wars, Legos, coloring, painting, Nerf guns and The Black Keys.
He will be forever cherished in the hearts of those who survive him, including his parents and two brothers, Caleb and Xavier Leonard, of the home; paternal grandmother, Mary Timko, Cleveland, Ohio; paternal grandfather, Thomas Leonard and Linda Reash Leonard, Columbus, Ohio; maternal grandparents, Brian and Marla Biggs, Paola, Kan.; paternal great-grandfather, V. Paul Timko, Naples, Fla.; and maternal great-grandmother, Esther Biggs, Wichita, Kan.; and many special aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Asher was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, James “Jim” and Betty Schulte; great-grandfather, Marvin Biggs; great-grandmother, Rita Timko; great-grandparents, Ted and Antoinette “Toni” Leonard; uncle, Robert “Bob” Leonard; and cousin, Stella Valentine.
