The Ottawa University softball team Saturday fell twice to nationally ranked Friends in Ottawa.

The Lady Braves lost 4-1 and 8-0 in five innings. Ottawa’s bats were silenced by the Lady Falcons’ pitching staff. Ottawa had three hits in the first game and was no-hit in the nightcap.

Ottawa’s lone run in the opener was a home run by Catherine Wallace in the second inning. The other two hits were by Cady Blevins and Becca Dunlop.

Morgan Beckler pitched in five innings. She had three strikeouts.

Morgan Shramek went four innings in the nightcap.

Ottawa is five games behind Friends in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference standings.

The Lady Braves (18-11, 5-5) play 5 p.m. Wednesday at McPherson College.
