Wanda L. Bryan, 87, Ottawa, died July 26, 2013.
The family planned to receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2013, at Lamb- Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa. Graveside funeral services were set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa.
She was born Feb. 20, 1926, the daughter of John Adam “Add” Fisher and Cressie Belle (Trout) Fisher.
She grew up on a sixth-generation family farm east of Ottawa.
She attended a one-room schoolhouse in the Briles Community and graduated from Wellsville High School with the class of 1944.
Wanda belonged to the Peoria Plodders for a few years and worked at Hallmark in Lawrence in the 1960s.
Wanda was united in marriage to Robert C. Bryan May 16, 1964. He preceded her in death Nov. 30, 1982.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jewell Addison Fisher; an infant sister, Darleen Fisher; and one sister, Catherine Yokum.
Survivors include a daughter, Carmen Rae Ewbank, and husband Bruce, Ottawa; a sister, Cleda Hofler, and husband Hance, Kansas City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Megan Ewbank, Ottawa, Robert Ewbank and wife, Melissa, Ottawa, and Justin Ewbank, Ottawa; three great-grandchildren, Sophie, Hunter and Gunner; and several nieces and nephews.
Wanda loved her farm and enjoyed walking around the farm with her grandchildren and dog, Tanner. She had a big garden and enjoyed her flowers and mowing the yard.
Her family was her big joy, and they all enjoyed the holidays through the years at her farm home. When Wanda wasn’t spending time in her garden or with her family, she loved to listen to the old time country music.
