With the crowning of homecoming royalty less than a week away, Ottawa High School has announced several public outreach events during homecoming week.
Festivities kick off today with OHS student council and art guild members “chalking” downtown business windows in the early morning.
Monday begins a week of themed apparel days for students throughout the district, as well as a 9:25 a.m. assembly at OHS, 1120 S. Ash St.
A community block party is planned for 5 p.m. Wednesday on the Franklin County Courthouse lawn, 315 S. Main St., followed by a powder puff football game at 8 p.m. at OHS.
Friday is “Cyclone Pride Day” with students and community members encouraged to sport red and white clothing. Homecoming royalty — candidates include Meghan Hinman, Maddy Lancaster, Brianna Pfizenmaier, Kord Ferguson, Aaron Miller and Vince Sylvester — are expected to be crowned during halftime of Friday’s varsity football game against Spring Hill.
A dance in the Cyclone Room at OHS is to follow the game.
