Don and Nancy Johnson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 13, 2010.
The couple celebrated by taking a trip to the Lake of the Ozarks with their children, grandchildren and other family members.
They have three children, Tim and his wife, Missi, Johnson, Bentonville, Ark.; Susan and her husband, Jeff, Frank, Palatka, Fla.; and Cathy and her husband, Jeremy, Anderson, Overland Park.
They have seven grandchildren.
The couple lived in Omaha for a year before moving to Ottawa, where Don took over the family farm.
He still is enjoying a 49-year career as a farmer on the west side of Ottawa.
She worked as a comptometer operator and bookkeeper before becoming a full-time farmer, homemaker and mother.
Don and Nancy enjoy spending time with their grandchildren, as well as hunting, fishing and gardening.
Don Johnson and the former Nancy Cowles were married Nov. 13, 1960, at Parkside Baptist church in Omaha, Neb.
