Frances Samyn, 75, Williamsburg, Kan., passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at her home.
Funeral services are planned for 10 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Samyn after 1 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at the funeral home. A rosary is to be said 6:30 p.m. Thursday, followed by family and friends visitation at 7 p.m. Interment is set for Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Olathe, Kan.
Frances was born Thursday, Dec. 23, 1937, in St. Louis, Mo. She was the daughter of Clarence and Pauline (Patterson) Buckley.
She grew up in Overland Park, Kan., moving to Olathe, Kan., after she married. For the past 23 years, she made her home in Williamsburg.
She graduated from St. Joseph High School with the class of 1955.
Frances was a devoted lifelong homemaker.
She was a member of the Williamsburg Bible Study Group and the Acorn Schoolhouse Ladies Club.
Frances was united in marriage with Albert Samyn Sept. 28, 1957, in Overland Park. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include her daughter, Karen Chanay and husband, Tim, Pomona; son, Mike Samyn and wife, Linda, Olathe; daughter, Connie Briar and husband, Steve, Olathe; grandchildren, Amanda and Matthew Chanay, Jake and Scott Samyn, David Hurley, Wendy Montgomery, and Brad and Brittney Briar; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Pauline Buckley.
