Joseph L. “Joe” Strange, 73, Williamsburg, Kan., passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013, at his home.
Graveside memorial services are planned for 9 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg. Family is set to meet with friends 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Dengel & Son Mortuary.
Joe was born Sunday, April 14, 1940, in Casper, Wyo., the son of Jodie Jordan.
He was a lifelong Williamsburg resident.
He graduated from Williamsburg High School with the class of 1958.
Joe worked 35 years for Kansas Gas Service in charge of maintenance of pressure, retiring in 1998. After retirement, he owned Joe’s Small Engine Repair for several years.
Joe served in the United States Navy as a maintenance mechanic from 1958 to 1962.
Joseph was united in marriage with Joyce Fogle June 18, 1961, in Williamsburg. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two children, Bob Strange and wife, Jenifer, Drexel, Mo., and Linda Hunt, Knoxville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Chris and Brandon Hunt, Knoxville, Bill, Michael, David, Joe and Maggie Strange, Drexel; and sister, Joyce Fischer and husband, Richard, Townsend, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jodie Jordan.
