Sheriff’s Department Arrests

• 7:22 p.m. Friday, Franklin County Jail, 305 S. Main St., Preston Pierce, 31, Derby, on a Franklin County warrant.

• 6:43 p.m. Saturday, 100 block of West Main Street, Rantoul, Mary Gormly, 28, Rantoul, on suspicion of domestic battery.

• 9:20 p.m. Saturday, K-68 and Iowa Terrace, Marshella Burdolski, 56, Ottawa, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after she was observed striking a bridge rail and several cones in a construction zone on K-68, according to a sheriff’s report.

• 3:57 a.m. Sunday, 3700 block of Old U.S. 59, Joshua Thomas, 28, Ottawa, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia, no proof of insurance and leaving the scene of an accident.

• 11:50 p.m. Sunday, Chris Taylor, 36, Ottawa, on suspicion of criminal damage to property in connection with a domestic disturbance.

• 12:42 a.m. Tuesday, 2300 block of I-35, Beverly C. Honn, 32, Williamsburg, on suspicion of driving with a suspended license.

• 5:41 p.m. Friday, 3700 block of Rock Creek Terrace, a 21-year-old Rantoul man reported two of his lawn mowers were damaged.

• 2:17 a.m. Sunday, 2100 block of Woodson Road, a 27-year-old Baldwin City man reported he was tackled and punched by his girlfriend’s father in the middle of Woodson Road. The incident is under investigation.

Theft Reports

• 11:59 a.m. Sunday, 3500 block of U.S. 59, a 22-year-old Ottawa man reported a cattle guard had been stolen from his truck, and the tool box in back was damaged. The loss and damage was estimated at $850.


• 9:32 a.m. Friday, 1200 block of Colorado Road, a 2003 Ford F-250 driven by Carolyn Rubick, 54, Williamsburg, was driving north on Colorado Road when a tire blew out and the truck went into the ditch, striking a fence post.

• 10:58 p.m. Friday, I-35 near milepost 180 in Franklin County, a 2000 Honda minivan driven by Rodney Miller, 46, Olathe, was northbound on I-35 when it struck a deer.

• 3:24 p.m. Saturday, I-35 near milepost 188 in Franklin County, a 2005 Georgetown RV driven by Bryan Hedrick, 33, Eudora, was northbound on I-35 at milepost 188 when it lost a tire. The tire struck a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica driven by Julie Cayton, 40, Emporia.
