Juanita Sterrett Rose, 95, Paola, passed away July 19, 2013, at her home.

Funeral services are planned for 7 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola. Visitation is set for 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. prior to the service. Burial is planned for 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Stanley, Kan.

Juanita was born July 19, 1918, in rural Olathe, Kan., to Harry Elmer and Mary E. Crookes Sterrett.

She was raised in the Olathe area.

She was united in marriage to Clyde Rose April 4, 1942, in Olathe.

They lived in the Paola area since 1983.

She was a postal clerk in Stanley for many years before her retirement. She also was a crossing guard for the Stanley school district. She was a member of the Thimble Club of Stanley Community Church. Her hobbies included gardening, growing flowers, quilting, and she especially enjoyed her cats.

Juanita was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Francis Norman Sterrett; infant sibling; and her parents.

Survivors include her sons, Glenn Allen Rose (Joy), Vero Beach, Fla., Gary Elton Rose (Jeanne), Ottawa, and Damon Eugene Rose (Brenda), Paola; six grandchildren, Christopher, Joette, Kevin, Greg, Jason and Joshua; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Interim Hospice through Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel.
