Jennifer Whiteford and Rickey Houk, Kansas City, Mo., were married May 23, 2010, at Stony Point Hall in Baldwin City in a double ring ceremony. Annola Charity officiated.
She is the daughter of Matthew Whiteford, Hutchinson, and Mary Whiteford, Ottawa.
He is the son of Ralph and Mary Houk, Clinton, Mo.
Her grandparents are Carroll and Georgia Whiteford; the late Don and Theresa Salsbery. Her great-grandparents are George Hutchison and the late Viola Hutchison.
His grandparents are the late John and Buela Houk; and the late Cletis and Pearl Sell.
She wore a tea length raw silk dress, adorned with green pleated chiffon details, which was designed and constructed by Jennifer McKelvie. She carried handpicked peonies, irises and daisies.
The bouquet was held by the sister of the bride, Kimberly Whiteford, Lawrence.
Flower girl was a friend of the bride, Kiaira Gayle Hayes, Lenexa.
Musicians were Mallory Melvin, Lenexa, who was accompanied by Tyler Snell on guitar. Thom Alexander and Joe Pickett, Lawrence, played the processional on guitar and mandolin.
A dessert reception followed at the wedding location inside the hall.
The couple took a wedding trip to Devilís Den State Park at Arkansas.
They live at Kansas City, Mo.
The bride is a graduate of Ottawa High School and the Kansas City Art Institute. She works as a dance instructor in Overland Park.
The groom graduated from† Clinton High School. He works as a service center technician at Babcock and Wilcox Construction, Kansas City, Mo.
