ELIZABETH 'BETTY' CORWINE

Elizabeth “Betty” Corwine, 94, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at her home near Overbrook.

Funeral services for Betty are planned for 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at the Feltner Chapel in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Pomona. The family will receive friends 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.  

She was born Oct. 14, 1918, in Olpe, the daughter of Christian and Sallie Schradter Krueger.

Betty had lived in Wellsville before moving to a farm north of Michigan Valley in 1969. She had lived there until moving to Sunflower Plaza in Ottawa 11 years ago; she had just moved to rural Carbondale.

Betty had worked for Brookside Manor in Overbrook as a cook for many years.

On June 7, 1946, Betty was married to Oren “Jack” Corwine in Garnett.

Betty was preceded in death by Jack on May 15, 2001; and by one grandson, Damon Corwine.

Survivors include her two daughters, Barbara Wright and husband, Jim, Wellsville, and Patricia Bame and husband, Jack, Carbondale; three sons, J.D. Corwine and wife, Idonna, Michigan Valley, Terry Corwine and wife, Kathy, Wellsville, and Steven Corwine and wife, Marci, Windsor, Colo.; 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to 4-H or Midland Hospice, sent through Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon KS 66451.
