ALICE ELIZABETH ‘BETH’ GETTINGER CAIN

Alice Elizabeth “Beth” Gettinger Cain, 101, formerly of Louisburg, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at the Delmar Gardens in Overland Park.

A service of celebration for Cain is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary-Eudora Chapel, 1003 John L. Williams Drive, Eudora. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, west of Ottawa. The family will greet friends following the service at the mortuary.

Beth was born March 25, 1911, in the Greenwood community of Franklin County, the daughter of John and Mary Alice Blankenbeker Gettinger.

She had lived since 1940 in Louisburg.

Beth was married to Lewis Jacob Cain Oct. 4, 1932, in Ottawa. He preceded her in death Aug. 27, 1996.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; a brother; and a great-grandson, Darrell David Cain, formerly of Coppell, Texas.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell D. and Barbara Cain, Lenexa, Gayle R. and Nancy Cain, Overland Park, Charley L. and Sandra Cain, Frisco, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Her family suggests memorials in her name to the First Baptist Church in Louisburg.
