AUDREY M. PRIEBE

Audrey M. Priebe, 90, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at the Osage Nursing Center.

Funeral services are planned for 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2012, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Vassar Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 17, 1922, near Pomona, the daughter of John and Pansy Hutchinson Bowman.

Audrey moved to Vassar in 1940 and lived there until 1991, when she moved to Osage City.

Audrey graduated from Pomona High School in 1939. In 1940, she started work at Bartz & Wigger Mercantile in Vassar. She and her husband operated Priebe Grocery and Locker until 1974. She later worked for the Osage County Health Department for 15 years. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.

On Jan. 10, 1942 Audrey was married to William Priebe in Vassar.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers, Kenneth Bowman and George Bowman; and her two sisters, Dorothy Lindsey and Belva Scheid.

Audrey is survived by her husband, William Priebe, of the home; her son, James Priebe and wife, Judy, Grand Prairie, Texas; her daughter, JoAnn Hamilton, Vassar; three grandchildren, Mark, Christopher and Jessica; and three great-grandchildren, Jenna, Emily and Joshua.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Red Cross, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon KS. 66451.
