JAMES Q. ‘COOT’ CAIN JR.

James Q. “Coot” Cain Jr., 74, McComb, Miss., passed away Feb. 2, 2013, at Aston Court Retirement Home, McComb.

A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Tangipahoa Baptist Church, Summit, Miss. Visitation is set for 9 a.m. to the service hour at the church. The Rev. Mike Morris and Dr. David Millican will officiate. Burial will be in East Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Cain was born Jan. 5, 1939, in Pike County, Miss. He was the son of James Q. Cain and Francis Boyce Cain.

Mr. Cain graduated from Liberty High School in 1958. He joined the U.S. Air Force then attended and graduated from LSU.

He also was a member of the Lions Club.

Mr. Cain was a member of East Fork Baptist Church

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Billie Jean Estrada; and two brothers, Jack Cain and Walter Cain.

Survivors include his former wife, Carol Cain, Ottawa; one son, Corbin Cain and wife, Jeri, Clinton, Mo.; one daughter, Carie-Dawn Tate and husband, Danny, Margarita, Calif.; one brother, Bryant Cain and wife, Jane; one sister, Linda Anderson and husband, Charles; and four grandchildren, Amanda and Aleah Raynor, Brooke and Charlotte Tate.
