Fred L. New, 93, Meriden, passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013.

Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 1, with military honors at the Meriden Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 26, 1919, at Homewood, the son of George W. and Hazel M. Adams New.

He graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1937.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1940 to 1946.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Donna; a son, Mick; four daughters, Linda, Deb, Judy and Teri; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne L. New, Princeton.
