ROGER D. WILLIAMS

Roger Dale Williams, 45, Edgerton, passed away Feb. 1, 2013, at Olathe Medical Center.  

Funeral services are planned for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Community Revival Center Church, 2749 Montana Road, Ottawa. Burial will follow at Edgerton Cemetery, Edgerton. Visitation is planned for 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at the First Baptist Church of Gardner, 324 E. Shawnee St.

Roger was born Feb. 11, 1967, in Topeka, to Roger Michael and Mabel Marie (Woodruff) Williams.

He grew up in Olathe, graduating from Liberty Christian High School in 1985.  

Roger married Judy Elizabeth Brown Sept. 20, 1986, in Blue Springs, Mo. They made their home in Olathe until moving to Edgerton in 2007. Roger was a transportation officer for the Johnson County Department of Corrections Residential Center at New Century since October 1998.

He was an active member of the Community Revival Center Church. Roger was a den leader for the Bear Den of Cub Scout Pack 3369 in Edgerton. Roger liked being around people, and family was everything to him. Roger loved to study the Word of God. He was a lay minister. He always was willing to share the Good News of the Gospel. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel.  

Survivors include his wife, Judy; children, Jessica Elizabeth, Stefany Danielle, and John Michael Williams, all of the home; father, Roger, and stepmother, Paula Williams, Harlingen, Texas; and sisters, Lori Chand, Amarillo, Texas, and Lisa Roehrig, Kansas City, Mo.

Memorial contributions may be given to Cub Scout Pack 3369 of Edgerton or the Community Revival Center Church through Bruce Funeral Home, PO Box 192, Gardner KS 66030.
