Mr. Christian died Feb. 4, 2010, at Eventide Convalescent Center in Topeka, Kan. He was born Feb. 27, 1924, in Humboldt, Kan., the son of John and Ada Greir Christian Sr.

Mr. Christian was in the U.S. Army in World War II. He served in the 52nd Signal Corps Battalion in five major battles. He received the AP SU Medal, Phil Lib Ribbon with Bronze Star and Victory Medal.
