Lorene Hinze, 90, Ottawa, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at the Ottawa Retirement Village.

A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Dengel & Son Mortuary.

She was born Thursday, July 27, 1922, in Osawatomie, the daughter of Jess and Hattie (Evans) McKinney.

Lorene lived in Ottawa since 1967, moving from Perry, Iowa.

Lorene was united in marriage with Joe Lile March 22, 1949, in Kansas City, Mo. They later divorced.

She then married Dean Hinze Dec. 4, 1958, in Fort Scott. They later divorced.

Lorene worked as a waitress in the 1960s, and then as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Crestview Nursing Home, Ottawa, in the 1970s and 1980s.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Hattie McKinney; and Lorene was the last of 12 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Leon Lile and his wife, Kathy, Waverly, and Ray Dover and his wife, Debbie, Olathe; a daughter, Marlene Slifer and her husband, Robert, Ottawa; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Ottawa Retirement Village through Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory St., Ottawa KS 66067.
