Dean W. Trendel, 94, Overbrook, died, Feb. 22, 2013.

Graveside funeral services are planned for 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Valley Brook Cemetery, Overbrook, Kan.

He was born Dec. 23, 1918, in rural Osage County.

Dean was a lifelong Overbrook area resident. He graduated from Michigan Valley High School and later worked at Michigan Valley Grain Elevator.

Dean was a lifelong carpenter, farmer and stockman in the area.

He was united in marriage with Wilma Bulmer March 14, 1940, in Lebo, Kan. She preceded him in death.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, William Dean Trendel; one brother, Edward Trendel; and two sisters, Frances Barnhart and Margaret Athon.

Survivors include one son, Jim Trendel, Ottawa; two daughters, Beverly Barnhart, Lawrence, Dena Demoret, Lenexa; one brother, Robert Trendel, Burlington; one sister, Esther Buell, Overland Park, one sister-in-law, Bertha Trendel, Pomona; seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Cottonwood CDDO through Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory St., Ottawa, KS 66067.
