Florence Letha Story, 91, Baldwin City, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at her grandson’s home in Baldwin City. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Ives Chapel United Methodist Church, Baldwin City.
She was born June 13, 1916, at Baldwin City to Jesse and Eva (Medlock) Sayler.
She grew up and attended schools in Baldwin City.
She enjoyed making homemade pies and family dinners.
She was a member of the Ives Chapel United Methodist Church, Baldwin City, and she was active with the United Methodist Women. She also was a member of the Douglas County Family and Community Education.
She was a homemaker.
She married Milo Story Dec. 10, 1932, at Ottawa. They shared more than 59 years of marriage. He preceded her in death June 1992.
Survivors include a son, Charles Story, Baldwin City; a sister, Mildred Foster, Meriden; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She also was preceded in death by sons, Lyle and Jack Story; a daughter, Shirley Russell; two sisters and a brother.
Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery in Baldwin City.
Family will meet with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
