John E. Stone Sr., Pomona, died Sunday, May 4, 2008.
He was born Sept. 8, 1917, at Wapella, Ill., to William and Ella Stone.
He graduated from Wapella High School in 1936.
He served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy.
He owned and operated his own machine tool business.
Survivors include sons, William Franklin, Gardnerville, Nev., and John Stone Jr., Overland Park.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn; and a daughter, Marsha.
Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan.
