HAZEL ROGERS

Hazel K. Rogers, 95, Garnett, died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at the Anderson County Hospital, Garnett. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church, Garnett.  

She was born April 9, 1914, to James Adelbert “Dell” and Eva May (Keeney) Bailey near Garnett.

She graduated from Garnett High School in 1933.

She was a teacher.

She married Edwin Merle Rogers June 18, 1934, at Garnett. He preceded her in death.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Neil Douglas Rogers; and a sister, Vivian Smith.

Survivors include children, Burke Rogers, of Garnett, Wesley Rogers, of Maple Falls, Wash., David Rogers, of Tulsa, Okla., and Patricia Bever of Overland Park; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Bailey, of Garnett.

Interment will be in the Glenloch Cemetery.  

The family will meet with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Services, Garnett.  

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church and sent in care of the funeral home.

Burke and Charlene...We extend our deep sympathy to you and family on the passing of Hazel. I remember her so well through the Extension Office and the beautiful flowers she raised for the flower show. She was a truly great lady. God bless you abundantly until we all meet together in our heavenly home.
