Adam Kenneth “Kenny” Burgdorfer, 67, Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012. 

Funeral services are planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory, Shawnee. Burial is planned in the Corinth Cemetery, Prairie Village. Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Beloved son of Ali Adam and Ruby Burgdorfer, Kenny was an avid horseman who trained, showed and sold hunter-jumpers. He taught at Williams Wood University in Fulton, Mo., in Equine Sciences. He won numerous national awards. Kenny was a member and board member of several horse organizations including American Saddlebred Horse Association, American Quarter Horse Association and United States Equestrian Team. 

He was preceded in death by his dad, Ali Adam Burgdorfer; and one niece, Kathren Holloway.

Survivors include his loving mother, Ruby Burgdorfer; two sisters and their spouses, Mary and Earnie Holloway and Margaret and Cyrus Oliver; several nieces; one nephew; and great-niece and nephew.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice in Kenny’s name.
