Motorists heading toward the Flint Hills could experience delays as road work hits I-35 near Beto Junction.
A 12-mile I-35 resurfacing project is expected to begin Monday, running from the Lyon-Coffey county line east to an area just west of the junction of I-35 and U.S. 75 at Beto. The project includes milling at bridge approaches and transitional areas, and resurfacing the roadway with an ultra-thin asphalt bonded overlay, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
I-35 traffic is to be reduced to one lane with a 55 mph speed limit in the work zone, KDOT said. The road work is expected to be finished by late October.
