Smoldering vegetation might have ignited a residential porch fire at 12:30 p.m. Friday in northern Ottawa.

The fire caused minimal damage to the residence at 1133 N. Mulberry St., according to an Ottawa Fire Department report.

“The incident involved an exterior porch area around a hot tub,” Jeff Carner, Ottawa fire chief, said in an email. “It appeared that smoldering vegetation had ignited some siding material, and damage was very minimal.”

No one was injured in the fire.
