Fire causes about $40K in damage

Jimmy Reeder, owner of an apartment complex at 716 S. Main St., left, and two unidentified men assess damage Monday morning after a weekend fire. The fire started in the basement of the six-unit apartment building and caused about $40,000 in damage to the building and its contents, a report from the Ottawa Fire Department said.
