NORTH NEWTON — Two Ottawa University track and field school records fell at the Bethel Invitational Saturday in North Newton.

Ottawa senior Kaity Keiswetter broke the school record and set a personal best in the triple jump with a leap of 34 feet, 8.25 inches and finished second in the event. The old record was 34-06.25 set by Eboni Fondren in 1999.

He topped the old record of 9:50.48 owned by John Inglehart. Garrard now owns five outdoor school records and one indoor school record.

He also won the 5,000 race.

“Kaity keeps improving each week. She is a dedicated sutdent-athlete and represents Ottawa University academically and athlethically with high standards,” Ottawa coach Kirk Wren said.

Garrard’s records range from 3,000 to the marathon.

“It is an amazing accomplishment,” Wren said. “Justin has exceeded all the expectations.
