Central Heights baseball routs Uniontown

CH baseball routs Uniontown

UNIONTOWN — The Central Heights High School baseball team routed Uniontown, 16-1, Friday at Uniontown.

The Vikings scored five runs in the first and second innings and six in the third. Central Heights had 10 hits, while Trevor Kratzberg no-hit Uniontown.

Clint Schulte had two hits, including a home run, and four RBIs. Adam Horstick and Thomas Conaway had two RBIs each. Bob Wolfe and Kratzberg had two hits each.



Falcon softball splits with Herington


POMONA — The West Franklin High School softball team Friday split with Herington in Pomona.

The Falcons lost the opener, 8-4, and won the nightcap, 5-2. Hannah Milton paced the offense with five hits and three RBIs. Laiken Rockhold finsihed with four hits and two RBIs. Janessa Putney and Hunter Rockhold had three hits each. The Falcons improved to 6-7.

Ottawa JV baseball tops Bulldogs

The Ottawa High School junior varsity baseball team swept Anderson County Friday in Ottawa.

The Cyclones won 14-2 and 10-5. In the opener, Jake Huddlestun hit a grand slam in the first inning. Dalton Laird pitched four innings and had had five strikeouts.

In the nightcap, Gene Dydell had two hits. Ryan Maxwell pitched three innings.

Park takes two from OU baseball

PARKVILLE, Mo. – The Ottawa University baseball team was swept 11-9 and 6-1 by Park University Saturday at Comfort Field in Parkville, Mo.

In the opener, Eric Cordell recorded six strikeouts to set a new single-season mark of 107 strikeouts.

Tyler Bish had four hits, two RBIs and three runs scored in first game. Sam Engle had two hits and two RBIs.

Ottawa finished its first season under coach Joe Reed with a 12-38 mark.



Gollier records ace in Missouri


MARCELINE, Mo. — John Gollier sank a hole-in-one April 17 at the Marceline Golf Course. He sank the ace on the seventh hole, a 168-yard, par 3, with a six iron.
