Senior scramble winners annnounced

The threesome of John Lovgren, Tim Jones and Don Hill won Monday’s senior scramble with a minus-3 at Hickory Hollow. Woody Dew (No. 3) and Gary Griffen (No. 7) were closest to the pin winners.

OU baseball falls to Sterling

STERLING — The Ottawa University baseball team lost two games Monday to Sterling in Sterling.

Ottawa fell 7-4 and 15-5. Ottawa had 11 hits in the opener. Tony Hurla had three hits and Brandon Myers, two. Blake Burks smashed a home run.



CH, Wellsville softball splits twin bill


WELLSVILLE — The Central Heights and Wellsville high school softball teams split a doubleheader Tuesday in Wellsville.

Central Heights won 7-3 and Wellsville won 5-4. In the Vikings’ win, Central Heights scored four runs in the third inning and three in the sixth to overcome a 3-0 Wellsville lead after two innings.

Wellsville scored its winning run in the seventh inning to snap a 4-4 tie. Wellsville scored three runs in the sixth inning to tie the game. Central Heights scored four runs in the fourth inning.
