Bethany ends OU's softball season

LINDSBORG — The Ottawa University softball team saw its season end Saturday with two losses in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament in Lindsborg.

The Lady Braves fell to Friends, 8-0, and then to Bethany, 4-1. Friends won the KCAC tourney title with a 1-0 win over Bethany.

The Swedes broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the third inning with a three-run home run by Laura Christopher.

In the fifth inning, Ottawa’s Myah Sprew belted a shot to right field to cut the deficit to, 3-1. Bethany though answered with a run in the bottom of the fifth.

The loss to Friends broke a six-game winning streak. Ottawa finishes at 24-18.
