Former school official tapped to lead library

Ken Woods has been hired as interim director of the Ottawa Library.

Library trustees named Woods interim director until a new director is found to succeed Jeff Coyle, who abruptly resigned after six months, citing differences with the trustees.

Woods has been hired to ensure continuity of the library’s services to the community, trustees said.

Woods, has been a school administrator and educator and has been an Ottawa library trustee. He is on the board of trustees for the regional Northeast Kansas Library System.

He and his wife Harriet live in Ottawa.
