Fireworks fill the night sky at a past Ottawa Jaycees fireworks show along the Marais des Cygnes River in Ottawa. Area groups, like the Ottawa Jaycees, pay for Fourth of July displays through donations, city contributions, various fundraising activities and, when necessary, using money from the organizations themselves.

Flurry of fireworks comes with a cost
