Today in Ottawa History - July 3, 1959

• Sen. Andrew Schoeppel (R-Kan.) and several other members of the Kansas congressional delegation will attend the July 4 closure ceremonies for Tuttle Creek Dam.  

• Eight cadets from the Ottawa area are receiving six weeks of training at the Reserve Officer Training Corps summer camp at Fort Riley.   Cadets from Ottawa are Ronald F. Meyer, Leslie L. Ogg, James A. Fivian,  Frederick R. Harderson, and Richard I. Barr.
