OU soccer nets sweep over Sterling

The Ottawa University men’s soccer team came back from a 1-0 halftime deficit to defeat the Sterling College Warriors 3-1 Wednesday at Peoples Bank Field.

In the earlier match, the Lady Braves rolled to an 7-0 victory with five goals in the second half.

The Braves tied the match four minutes into the second half as Colin Wylie’s shot glanced off the post.

Ottawa’s second goal came 12 minutes later Matt Walton found Philip Nguyen in front of the net for the header. The third goal came as Nguyen’s shot glanced off of a Warrior defender.

The women won their fifth straight.

Hanna Kelsey and Jo-anne Glynn netted two goals each.

Whitney Bowen, Samantha Mayfield and Sheridan Horner scored one each.

The Braves (4-9, 2-2) and Lady Braves (9-4, 4-0) play Saturday at Tabor.
