OU volleyball rallies to top Southwestern

The Ottawa University volleyball team rallied from a three-point deficit in the fifth game Saturday to nip Southwestern in Wilson Field House.

Ottawa downed Southwestern, 25-23, 23-25, 25-22, 17-25, 17-15. Ottawa battled through injuries to two of its top six players for the win.

Ottawa placed three players in double digit kills. Freshman Kristen Hendrickson led Ottawa with 21 kills on 46 attempts for a .348 hitting percentage.

Senior Erin Scott had a season-high 15 kills on 30 attempts for a .333 hitting percentage. Scott also had four block assists.

 Courtney Cox tallied a career-high 10 kills on 30 attempts for a .233 hitting percentage.

Freshman setter Chrissie Jeannin had 50 set assists and for the second time in three matches Ottawa had a player with more than 30 digs.

Libero Kelsey Camp had 33 digs with only two receiving errors.

Ottawa (11-16, 6-6) plays today at home against Sterling College (12-9, 7-4).

Sterling is two matches ahead of Ottawa in fourth place.
