OU women's soccer downs Kansas Wesleyan

SALINA – For the first time since the 2005 season, the Ottawa University women’s soccer team defeated Kansas Wesleyan University.

Ottawa (11-4-0, 6-0-0) took the soccer match 3-0 Wednesday in Salina.

The Lady Braves scored first when Whitney Bowen’s pass found Jo-anne  Glynn for the goal.

Samantha Mayfield scored off of a corner kick from Amanda Just.

The third goal came from Tara Wood from 50 yards out.

Ottawa recorded its eighth shutout of the season.

Ottawa is closing in on its first conference championship since the 2005 season.

The OU men’s soccer team fell to Kansas Wesleyan 7-0.

The Braves fell to 5-9 and 3-3.

Both Ottawa teams play Saturday against Bethel College in North Newton. Matches begin at 5 p.m.
