Crime Stoppers

The Ottawa Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office are investigating burglaries at three local auto dealers that happened over the weekend.  

The burglaries occurred at Skaggs Auto Sales, 1127 N. Main St., Ottawa, and Crist Auto Sales, 2571 U.S. 59, Friday night or Saturday morning. Creason-Tawney Chevrolet Olds Inc., 2324 E. Logan St., Ottawa, was burglarized Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Stolen from Skaggs were 30-day temporary license plates and miscellaneous cash. A boombox CD player was stolen from Crist. A handheld  GM Tech I diagnostic tester and a handheld GM Tech II diagnostic tester were stolen from Creason-Tawney.

Anyone with information about these crimes should call the Franklin County Crime Stoppers at (888) 311-TIPS — that’s (888) 311-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.

Franklin County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of any person(s) committing a felony crime in Franklin County.
