Cathleen A. Morgan, 51, Greeley, Kan., passed away Monday, July 29, 2013, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Mo.
Funeral services are planned for 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at St. Johnís Catholic Church, Greeley, with burial to follow at St. Johnís Cemetery. A rosary is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the church, with visitation following at the St. Johnís Hall.
She was born Feb. 5, 1962, in Hoisington, Kan., the daughter of Eugene C. and Margaret (Sommer) Morgan.
She graduated from Central Heights High School with the class of 1980 and was a member of the National Honor Society. She attended Neosho County Community College to obtain her registered nurse degree.
Cathy was employed at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa, Kan., for 10 years. She continued her nursing work with the elderly in the area with in-home care.
She learned how to knit and crochet at a young age, and made many doilies, sweaters, Christmas stockings, afghans and lace tablecloths. Cathy had a love for cats, especially white ones. She would take in any color cats, green, yellow, purple or blue cats, feed them, tame them, and then take them to get fixed.
Cathy was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Morgan.
Survivors include her mother, Margaret Morgan, of the home; one brother, Leon Morgan and wife, Laurie, Paola, Kan.; nephew, Michael Morgan, Paola; niece, Alicia Morgan, Paola; and many other relatives and friends.
