WASHINGTON — President Obama is planning to soon discuss his plans to retool the economy at an eastern Missouri city.

Obama’s office announced Monday that the president is set to lay out his vision to rebuild the economy with an emphasis on the middle class 5 p.m., Wednesday at the University of Central Missouri, in Warrensburg, Mo., according to a release.

The president’s remarks at the University of Central Missouri are open to ticketed members of the general public, the release said.

Obama had scheduled another event previously in the area — an April 19 speech in Lawrence — but those plans were scuttled after the April 15 terrorist attack in Boston. The Lawrence event was not rescheduled.
